| Not Ranked : 0 score I believe the block heater is an option in Canada. You may be able to order the part and install it yourself. Install may be a bitch though since I think the block drain bolt is on the turbo side. I installed one in my Honda S2000 and it only took me an hour. The part was $35 from Honda.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score install in a mazda 3: 1hr labor + $80 block heater install in ms3: 3hr's labor + $80 block heater block heater as an option from factory: $42  i thought about doing it myself but being that its under the turbo and i cant just switch the plug for the heater without draining the coolant... i dont know if i feel up to that much work in my driveway. when i asked about the block heater before i bought the car, my (idiot) salesman wasn't sure if it had one, so he went to the service desk and they (apparently) told him it wasn't an option. i went to the service desk a couple days ago to get a quote for having one put in and they said they would talk to him about getting it done for free. unfortunatly my dealership doesnt seem to have one person that is capable of returning a phone call so i guess i'll need to keep harassing them in person.
