Trans build?

Been a while since last thread. Put 100K on the my last (OVERBUILT$$$) engine. Now it's protesting my sometimes cavalier oil-level management with subtle, bottom-end, rattlings, unfortunately reminiscent of the spun-fried rod bearing variety, responsible for the demise of its predecessor! I recognized them immediately and have parked the car in the garage and purchased another engine. I'm going with a fully BBB, drop-in, long block and new tune this time but what about the trans? I've been so caught-up with engines over the years, I've forgotten about the trans! It's working very well with the current clutch but it has 200k now. It's the only thing that hasn't been replaced at least once! New trans from Mazda, re-build with gear set...or leave it alone till it breaks? Whats being done with the most success, nowadays? Thanks

Unless its giving you problems or you want taller gearing, nothing much to do with the transmission.. If you want to be 100% certian you could pull it apart and check the actual gearsets.

Thanks, Installer, for your thoughts. I've learned all lessons the hard ($$$) way so far with this car....my Mazdarati , and don't want to schooled again at this late date. Just snoopin' around to benefit from what others might have experienced.
