Default Possible bad turbo seals or no?

In need of some insight!

So i had my shortblock rebuilt and i dropped the motor in the car, just cranked it a couple of times and then noticed an oil leak from where the turbo and the dp flange join. Now there is not suppose to be oil on the hot side of the turbo obviously. The oil is dark so im not sure what to think except for my seals being blown.

This is a new turbo with only 10k miles on it so its hard to believe the seals are gone already. A diagnosis idea i have is to crank the motor again but without the dp connected to see if oil collects in the turbo as i crank. Question is, is this a smart way to go about diagnosing it? I dont see the issue cranking without a dp connected.

Please help!

did you just crank it or it run for a while? strange you could see it after few cranks. specially in a turbo to DP connection - this is after exhaust mani so there is a lot possible reasons...

WHy did mazda have to use such a shit turbo... Literally for a few bucks more in their bulk buying they could have avoided all the issues. I would have gladly paid another hundred or 2 or whatever upon purchase at the dealer for a turbo that wasn't going to smoke or leak oil.
