Default MSP Question for newbie

Hello I'm new here to the forums and to Mazdaspeed. I was looking to buy a MAzdaspeed Protege for $6,800. When I looked at it today everything seemed good about it except that there was a problem with the mapping (at least thats what I think the problem was).

Every time I accelerated hard the car would hesitate and violently jerk without me shifting gears. How easy is it to fix this problem and how much would it cost? The owner said he might look into it but he isnt sure yet. If he ends up not fixing it is it worth it to buy the car?

really violent, its a boost leak or other issue. if its just a basic hesitation that pretty normal for a msp it just runs really rich

Yeah I think I will turn that one down. I also just found another one they are asking the same price. It has 112k miles on it and mechanically it seems fine but the owner replaced the springs but not the struts so it bottoms out. About how much would it cost to fix this?

or just dont buy an msp and just get an ms3 and donate then win from all the knowledge.
a buddy of mine has an msp and idk if its because he doesnt know how to take care of his car or the car itself sucks. probably a combination of the two.
but since hes owned it

-blown motor
-replaced two transmissions

as of right now his car isnt even 100% working and the dude still drives it lol

MSP's are harder to find unmolested than Lindsey Lohan not on drugs or drunk.

Before you buy it, get it inspected by a Mazda dealer. Compression, turbo manifold (known for cracking) and more.

I loved my msp but good luck finding one as raider said. They made less than 5700 of them and most are beaten to shit now.
