Default First impression of 2011 Accessport.

I just installed the accessport this evening by following the instructions given with the packaging. I ran a simple safe map for Cobb SRI on 93 octane. I warmed the car up and went for a quick spin. WOW. I say my butt Dyno gives this a 40 hp boost in addition to what I had picked up from the SRI. No low fuel, weird fuel trims noted so far. Its alot of fun! Will give more feedback once I collect actual data.

Introduce yourself?

There's a new member intro section, I'd suggest making a thread there if you haven't already.

Glad you like the AP.

How many miles do you have on your ride. Did the SRI make a noticable difference alone?

Congrats on the AP. Why is 40hp off with this mod+SRI? Probably not too far off.

Yea I meant 40hp total. I did not explain myself well there.

Here is a log of a 3rd gear pull.

Make sure that when you are logging, you keep an eye on your fuel pump.

You logged a fuel pump variable, but I believe it is voltage, rather than pressure.

For reference, you would like to see fp north of 1400 psi.

Going to need a fuel pump, looks good other than that.

1400 is way wrong u wanna see 1600+ at WOT. Pick up some KMD V2 internals or Autotech internals. Or if if rich a Cp-e fuel pump

I am getting 1600+ at WOT but EX_WRX is right, I do have a low pressure spot in the mid rpm range. Fuel pump is next, prob CP-e version. I just wanted to be able to log and jumped on the chance to Beta the AP for 2011.

Just updated to a new map from that log. COBB is fine tuning them as we give datalogs. So cool. Will see if it helps.

Here is another log. Cobb gave to a new map to try after I gave them the above log. This new log is a 4th gear pull with this new map installed.

From the datalogging guidelines provided by Christian on the cobbtuning.com web page:

italics cut and pasted:

If the DI Fuel Pressure drops below 1400psi while at WOT, then you will need to install an upgraded CDFP or use the Free AccessTUNER Race software to lower your boost targets.

FP between 3200 and 3600 looks a little sketchy. You let off at 5800 rpms? You need to pull all the way to 6700.

Last edited by Ex_WRX_driver; 04-06-2011 at 04:16 PM. Reason: Put 5800 instead of 5500

Looks good, glad your enjoying your AP.

I'd recommend getting a testpipe if you haven't already, its been the most noticeable power upgrade i've done.

Thanks Broxer, that is on my list.

Yea missed my marks on the RPM targets a bit. I only have 1900 miles on the car and with the changes with mods, spring temps, and AP maps I cant judge yet by feel. The tach takes a back seat to the watching the road LOL. Anyhow, thanks for the responses.

If your AP is in view, you can set it to flash at you for a shift light/let off light at whatever rpm you choose.

Or you could let it bounce the rev. limiter.

You should log Pedal so we can see if you are WOT, also you should not boost so low in the rpm band. Wait till atleast 3000 RPM before pegging it, I never do before 3500. Loading up the boost at low RPM is hard on the engine.

I am not sure how the logs are coming across since I have tried to line up the categories with the numeric data. Should I just post the raw AP data or my attempt of organizing it? Wierd. I did have throttle position in the data, but like I said, not sure if I screwed up the format.

I have not calibrated my MAF. The cobb tuner I am working with said my fuel trims are fine and AF ratio are fine. Just got another map adjustment but will have to wait until tomorrow to do some more runs. Drank three 7&7s LOL.

You can just leave the log file as a .csv , "comma separated value", and the program that the people use who look @ your logs will sort it out.

The reason that I say it is because of my dyno's. Look at my build thread and you will see what I am talking about. There is a gain but not near as much as you are thinking. I assure you. And my dyno's were done on the same machine using the same correction factor.

To check that low RPM boost targets are being hit correctly, Cobb has us going WOT at 2K for 3rd and 2.5k for 4th.

FWIW, if using throttle position, ~74-75% = wot.

He is beta testing the unit like a few others are doing..... I am on revision B and I have to say I like A better. Hopefully they will have C for me to try tomorrow. Gotta say it is kind of fun being a Gennie pig. But the out come will be a tried and well tested unit, that will Perform!

I am on my D or 4th map revision. Have not had a chance to run it yet. The C version seemed to work pretty good. Power was very linear and predictable. The more you pressed the throttle the more you get. It does not have spikes and plateaus. Fuel pressure now stays easily 1600 plus on stock FP. Boost gets to 17.5ish.

You will find that some states use Cali ECUs, this is because some states have adopted California regulations for emissions so even though you aren't in California, they use a California ECU.
