Default Looking for a remote E Tune.

Searched the forums here, found a post mentioning a few users who do E tunes but many of them had not been online since Nov. When I went to PM user phate, who is active, I got an error saying I don;t have enough posts to PM.

What are current remote E tune options for someone with a 2nd gen and a Cobb V2 ?

Thanks.

It's amazing what you can find if you actually look.

E-Tuning for Dummies

Typed in "Mazdaspeed e tune" on Google and magic happened.

Amazing that that link doesn't give me a recommended forum member like i was looking for.

Should have known better than to actually ask for help here.

No, its abundantly clear that you did zero research on this topic. I find it impossible that you searched this forum for more than 2 minutes without coming to at least Freektune as a possible E-tuner for you.

I digress though as I see you've found your way to the Freektune section of the forum. Again, abundantly clear that you are doing zero leg work on your own if you're asking in that thread how to contact him. The banner is literally a link to his website with his contact information there. Surely you have had to google a business to find their contact information?

Yes I found his thread, which was is a PITA thanks to the way this place is "organized". The difference is i wanted to contact him via the forum, which wasn't possible via pm. I'm well aware FREEKTUNES.COM exists.

"Why is everyone's go to response something along the line of "should have known better than to actually ask for help here" oh my where did I find this?"

Because a lot of you guys are a bunch of cry baby, condescending a holes who would rather spend time bitching about something so incredibly minor than just choosing to move along.

This forum is huge, searching it, even with Google doesn't make it easy to find specific answers, and that header link doesn't show on my mobile view. I searched, I found a thread mentioning many users who do e tunes, many were, as previously stated, inactive. The active ones, I couldn't pm. Next logical step > ask in a post.

You don't have to respond to posts you don't like, and there's really no need for it if you're not actually going to help.

Im already familiar wirh how an e tune works, I was trying to get a feel for who the better e tuner people were who are a part of the forums and in my assumption more "specialized" in the MS3.
I've found from my experience that going to a fellow forum member proves more beneficial.

But I've already made a post on the freektunes thread after reading another post about satisfied customers so I'll just be waiting on him at this point, Thanks.

Freeks brilliant has tuned 1000s of these cars, he also use to work for Mazda as a master tech/full qualified mechanic, he knows these engines inside out and builds his own engines as well.

Him being a mechanic he can also identify and advise if there is an issue with a car from looking at the data logs...people get impatient waiting for responses sometimes....he is busy as with tunes and racing his own cars...he also has a young family and can't be going 24/7.

If you actually read the blog to the link I sent you, you would have found this part

So, did you just not read? Have trouble reading? Or are you just fucking lazy and would rather people spoon feed you answers?

Because all of those e-tuners are here on MSF.

Surely you realize the difference between "great service", people simply answering a question, or not answering because they don't know/choose not to, and people actively being being dicks for no other reason than to just be a dick. All I asked was who's the go to for e tunes and how to reach them. No GREAT SERVICE was expected.

I usually side with new people and do realize that some on the forum are just dicks. However in this case you also need to realize that the information you are looking for is extremely available. Maybe not that easy to get to but its there i guarantee you. So at this point you only sound like you are whining.. its a skill to realize also when you are wrong yourself and when more than 3 people tell you that you are doing something wrong you have to stop and think.

It's not about being a dick. Do you think you're the first to come in asking about an e-tune? Not to mention, as I pointed out, the link I sent you had everything you would want to know about an e-tune. And then at the end, gave you links to people who are all e-tuners, and supported by people here.

Trust me, it's great that you came here for advice, instead of going to facebook and getting a bunch of people telling you their friend can do it for beer and pizza........
Seriously though, asking questions is fine, but 95% of the ones you will ask, have been answered already.

Thanks, @g00s3y. I thought I had that URL bookmarked already, but I guess I didn't.

At any rate OP, "search" is like the numero uno rule here. And when you feel like you've exhausted your search capabilities...search, search, and search some more.

I've been around here for a couple years and I still get apprehensive going to post a new thread because 9 times out of 10 someone has either asked the question already, has a post up explaining how something works, or perhaps it's a how-to. If anything, you could always consider bumping a thread if you feel that it's something that is relevant or pertains to your situation. And yes, FREEK is a great tuner. And like mentioned above, don't get discouraged if you don't hear back right away...either from a tuner or on MSF.

Mamma' always told me that it's easier to catch flies with honey than with vinegar. So don't worry, man, we all learn from mistakes.

Ninja edit: Wow, it's actually been three years this month that I've been on MSF. Damn, how the time flies.

Another tip for the Google search trick: if you are regularly browsing via mobile, check if your phone allows you to set up keyboard shortcuts. On my Samsung, it's an option through the default keyboard settings; so now whenever I type "gg," the autocorrect box pops up and displays "site:www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum" for fast and effortless input.

Anyway, as has been stated, asking questions is fine, but make sure you've truly exhausted your options before you do. It isn't that the knowledgeable guys here don't lke to help (QUITE the opposite, actually); it's just that people don't like to repeatedly answer the same basic questions that already have tons of threada devoted to them.

Either way, smart choice on going with Freek; Justin is a master and although it might take a few days or a week for him to be able to respond (how busy he is is testament to his mad scientist skills), it's well worth being patient.

It would be even faster if you saved my search tool below on your phone as an website bookmark. Then you can tap and then search with one tap.

Open browser -> type gg in search bar
Open browser -> click bookmark

I doubt if one is really any faster than the other, just offering another option.

Mine doesn't have to open an bookmark in a browser. You make an shortcut bookmark and you can place it on your homescreen.

Fair enough, but therein lies the difference that may make one method more beneficial than the other, depending on each person's usage. Personally, I don't need any more clutter on my homescreen, so I prefer a kb shortcut to quickly use in browser. YMMV.
