(Thread Starter) | Neutral : -1 score Was going to originally go with a gtx with atp hotside. But work bonuses are no longer that big at work. So bought the turbo used (buyer said roughly 5k miles) and jewed out on other things to save money. All in all all parts were bought for under 1500 total. I figured if I went the route i was going (gtx with ATP hotside) would have been closer to 2300. 800 dollars that can be spent on hookers and blow. Would have been cheaper if I decided to stay stock intake. But decided to open that up. Parts: GT3076 ATP IWG hotside (came with: Coolant in line, low profile oil feed banjo, coolant return barbed banjo fitting) Treadstone 3" maf Treadstone 2" silicon hose and 2" coupler (will be coupled to ets tmic) 2x Treadstone garrett/efr 10an drain flanges (much cheaper then ATP with integrated gasket and no need for step down studs) 10an drain line lubed with doubleflusher's man juice Silicon intakes 3" 45 degree elbow HTP 3" turbo inlet with 3" to 4" reducer (not picture being fabbed) Various tbolt and worm clamps, new crush washers, studs Hallman Pro RX boost controller in homo purple 3 bar map still needs to be ordered Everything GT3076 Decided to do a little porting to the flapper area with a dynafile and some rotary grinding stones. Inside the turbine housing Flapper side with half moon bit of metal taken out and smoothed the transition greatly Once I get my TIP in I'll start getting ready for the build and snapping some pics along the way to hopefully help anybody else going the bolt on route. Not that it hasn't been done before.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Has anyone really successfully run a TMIC on a BT build? I know I was having major heat soak issues on mine before I even went BT. My tuner told me to not even bother. Oh well, FMIC look sick anyways! Good luck with the build, man!

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'm not concerned about the core size on the ETS, the heatsoak is the problem. FMIC will never heatsoak as much as a TMIC will and will constantly see better flow. anywho, good luck

| You'll have to excuse me for this. I may be putting myself directly in the line of fire for a bunch of flaming, but just how offensive are you trying to be? Your build looks like it could be a lot of fun, and I'm glad for the info and pictures, but the way you titled this thread, and the way you're talking about this is incredibly racist, anti-semitic and offensive. I normally don't take offense to this sort of thing, but I can't understand why you'd even say that you're "Jewing" your way to something (and yes, I do understand what the phrase means). I hope you can change the title and your post, but if you can't, I hope you at least change the language you use in the future. |

MAP sensor is cheaper then boost gauge haha. Plus one day i might try ebcs. But for ease of tuning mbc.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Got dissasembled today. Obigatory pics of turbo comparo and then pics of ma intake for the turbo. Acually turbo install is going smooth. Have the 3076 already on the car to the manifold.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hahah yeah. But i would call it a fairly cheap build. I mean everything else I saved a lot of money on, and I wanted a quality turbo, not so much on an ebay turbo.

| Not Ranked : 0 score You don't need a FMIC. If I was building a speed again I would go TMIC and Meth. You can still heat soak the pipes on a FMIC so its not immune to engine heat. TMIC is easier to keep from getting boost leaks and its a much shorter path. I ran a CX core with a 50\50 meth setup and the FMIC would heat soak in the summer but as soon as I was in boost the BATs would drop to below ambient. This was on the 3076. I fucking hated the FMIC and would have gladly traded it for a good aftermarket TMIC.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Ok so turbo installed. A little bit of a bitch, new tune loaded. Running completely off of manual boost control. Having issues building boost, it's tough just to get to 5psi under 5500rpm's, but it starts creeping exponentially at redline, any thoughts. I need to get a log going probably for more assistance, but wonering if any thoughts. Wastegate is preloaded, and hooked up properly. Acts as if it's open always....

| Not Ranked : 0 score Unless you have a massive boost leak that somehow fixes itself near redline, I agree with WGA is stuck. I sure hope you don't have to pull the whole turbo to fix that...

| Not Ranked : 0 score Stock manifold is fine, man. When I finally go gt3076, I'm keeping stock manifold. Make sure you have some sort of turbo bracket or it will stress the manifold too much.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yes, but what about the flexible portion in the middle? I wouldn't want to put much weight on that. I'm not afraid with stock turbo 'cause it's such a little guy, but a gt3076 weighs a lot more.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Once i get this actuator issue figured out i will start posting logs. But mandatory engine bay shot (no cover on at the moment, and mbc is sitting on the engine) Oh and not pictured chisel in the recirc tube until i get a longer line. Only big issues I had were removing the manifold, again to get the oil feed on. Too difficult to put the oil feed on the turbo when bolted to the mani. Didn't want to take a chance of crossthreading. Also the atp supplied oil drain, is far too long. Cut about an inch and a half off. No big deal. Used a banjo nipple bold on coolant out instead of bending the stock line. And also extended the heater hose to get the turbo inlet pipe in.

| Not Ranked : 0 score So if you read Anthony's (driver311) thread, he is a firm believer that using the smallest amount of e85 necessary to get all the KR-prevention benefits is optimal. I know, just someone's opinion, but his car is going nuts with just 4 gal and he never ever has knock. I think his 1/4 mile times speak for themselves
