(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score My internet lingo is short but sweet... how about you relax buddy?! It was a simple question, and usually that carries simple answers along with it. Your answer however has nothing to do with the question so why even respond? back on topic: He is running a Perrin MBC, but to me it sounds like it is running of EWG spring pressure...hrmmm |

| Not Ranked : 0 score blow thru has the maf right before the tb(after the turbo), instead of before the turbo. The reason why people do this is it creates a more accurate signal for the ecu because it knows exactly how much air it is getting. As opposed to suck through which for al essential purposes the ecu is guess on the air based on what its seen before the turbo. Most people don't run them because it maxes out the maf entirely way to fast. The last time i checked was still a issue on these cars even with the big maf. I'd be interested to see how this guy is running blow through, what are your mods and tuning?

| Not Ranked : 0 score You didn't give much info, but... Take the boost controller off, and run directly from the wastegate... If he has an ATP fail gt35 they probably sent him the 8psi wastegate... If he's got an external gate he just needs to chage the springs, most Tial's come with .6 bar springs preinstalled, that would net him about 8 psi.. If it's a boost leak, it's fucking massive---a gt35 could be leaking like crazy and still hit 10~15psi if that was the wastegate pressure

Close but not exactly, Most blow through mafs peg sooner because when you place an elbow in front of a maf it will thow off the maf output buy 15 to 20% high,(rich) whatever. therefore it hits 5 volts sooner. also putting a bend before the MAF will cause turbulence. and putting it too close to the TB may cause backwash and/or turbulence as well. If you have enough straight tubing in front of a blow through maf it won't peg any sooner than a draw through maf (the air mass is the same). whenever i do a blow thru MAF on someones car, i always find a way to put a minimum of 6-8" of straight pipe before the maf. This is how I get them to peg at the same horsepower B/T or D/T. Ideally the more straight tubing the better but it just dosen't always work that way, because sometime there isnt room to do it, unless you make room. i really like to make it 12" straight, but the minimum is 6-8" before the MAF, after the MAF is just as important, but doesnt effect the readings near as much. aside from not being able to drive the car on draw thru in the event of a pipe blowing off and the car running better with blow thru anyway, that is enough for me to make every car i build that uses a MAF blow thru when boosted. | |
