Default GTX3076R T4 Divided 1.06 Topmount

Like the title says. GTX3076R T4 divided 1.06AR topmount.

It's going into my MS6.

AFI T4 divided topmount manifold - ceramic coated and wrapped
Dual Tial 38mm MV-S wastegates
ATP T4 divided 1.06 AR housing ceramic coated and blanket
Garrett GTX3076R w/ Snail Turbo billet compressor wheel (original ingested debris)
Carrillo rods/bolts
CP 9:1 Pistons
ARP main and head studs
Ported head
Port matched stock intake w/ VTCS intact

The goal is to see how much area under the curve can be obtained without supplemental fuel.

Then the baby turbo goes buh-bye and we get serious w/ some new fueling solutions.

As you can see from the pic, it's almost ready to go in.
Code Monkey and Biglegg like this.

Port matched with VTCS still in it? Seems kinda odd. Is there just a lot of space around the flappers now?

I didn't go deep into the runners. I just flared the opening from the flaps out to the flange to smooth the transition.

Any reason why? Just to keep cold start not terrible? Seems like it would be quite a restriction on the rest of the system. Especially with a ported head you should have awesome flow.

Trying to keep low end torque for early spool. I'm going for max area under the curve for this phase. I will put a new intake on when I swap the turbo.

I'm trying to see if all of the insulation on the exhaust manifold and housing can make up for it. I may swap out the housing.

I plan on testing different parts. That's what this car is for. T4 hotside selection is limited. I plan to make some big numbers later on. I didn't want to have to swap the manifold. I wish there was a true twin scroll t4 like the EFRs have. I may switch to an EFR when I'm ready to go big.

When going twin scroll, you can't really compare the a/r of the turbine housing to what you would go with single scroll. Spool should come on very quickly with this size turbo and 1.06 hotside.

With my PTE 6262 and a T4 1.06 twin scroll hotside, I hit 23psi on my very first pull at 3240 rpm.

Yeah. 1.06 isn't as huge as it sounds. I do wish there was a .92 T4 twinscroll option like the EFRs have.

ATP. It's listed as GT35, but they have a GT30 option.

Also, not sure if AFI fixed the design, but there will likely be clearance issues for the wg if you are keeping your A/C. And super tight dp fitment.

I'm having the DP and WG piping custom fabbed. They can cut and redirect that WG pipe if needed.

After looking at the pics side by side, my WG pipe has a different angle. I'll find out about clearance in a day or two. It's going in this week.

I have a topmount 3076 with the .78A/R T3 twin scroll housing; I should have gone with the 1.06.
I had to put a custom spring in my dual port BOV to allow some recirc while cruising to keep it from surging. It's nearly impossible to stay out of boost during normal driving and it hits 32 psi at just over 3000rpm.

The twin scroll already improves spool characteristics by reducing cylinder interference so you can run a larger A/R from that perspective and achieve similar spool.

However a twin scroll housing with the same A/R as a single scroll will be more restrictive. The increased surface area of having a divided housing means more friction for the exhaust gases. This is another reason to run a bigger A/R on a twin scroll versus a single.

I've been crazy busy lately. I got it in the car on Monday night. There is a clearance issue with one wastegate. I will need to make a short angled extension to locate it where there is clearance. I'm travelling right now so I can't post pics.

I ran the engine for 10 min with just a short elbow on the turbo to check for oil/water leaks. With the ceramic coating + turbo blanket, I was able to put my hand on the blanket. It was only a little warm. It's safe to say that the exhaust energy is being retained in the exhaust stream. I'm very anxious to see what the spool profile looks like.

I'm really curious to see how the spool is on this. One of the last things I'm still deciding for my turbo is what A/R I want. I'll be on an S256 (similar size to the gt3076) but on a T3 housing and I can't decide between a .75 and 1.0.

if the spool isn't good but you already have the twinscroll can you try soemething similar to this?
Maybe juste a trap made in between with a kind of wastegate pressurised actuator to activate the second part when the initial boost is reached ?

Is Variable Twin Scroll Turbocharging the Answer to Future Turbos?

just a pressure actuator could probably works fine? a used 8psi WG for exemple.

the second chamber would open when the intake reach 8 psi. the only problem could be to direct the flow of the blocked side to the other scroll
