(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score -4 size Oil inlet fitting for GT28/30/35R with built-in restrictor : atpturbo.com I've tried two different fittings, both of them brand new. The turbo is brand new as well. For whatever reason, the inverted flare is not sealing well. It must be something on the turbo side of the fitting that is nicked or whatever. Once the oil gets warm and I build any sort of pressure over 60 psi...it starts a slow ooze from the oil feed port on the turbo, pushing past the threads. Now, from what I understand is that while Garret BB turbos have some sort of restrictor built into the CHRA these days, that if you make over 80-85 psi of oil pressure then you'll want to run the little restrictor fitting I linked to as well. Well, obviously that setup is not working for me. So, I'm looking to swap to this: 22" Low profile -3 LINE Kit for GT25R through GT35R turbos : atpturbo.com and seal it all off with crush washers instead of the flare. Only problem I see is that this banjo bolt offers a much larger orifice than that little restrictor pill offered. It seems like I still need a restrictor, right? I've talked to a couple of people who claim that with the ATP Drop in kits, that they send it with that banjo setup only...and people don't run any sort of restrictor on the oil feed. Is this correct? The only other option I'm toying with is throwing this in there between the block and the turbo to act as my restricor (and filter, to boot): Forced Performance Turbochargers: FP -4 AN Inline Filter Any opinions on using the banjo setup on these cars with no restrictor? I'm supplying oil from the factory location where I cut and welded a -4 fitting to the hardline/banjo coming from the block and ran a SS -4 line to the turbo. The banjo setup would make install MUCH easier with how my manifold is routed so, really, I'd love to go that route. Discuss

| Not Ranked : 0 score If you're using the stock oil line, ATP has said a restrictor is unnecessary. As for oil leak, you using teflon tape? I always had to use teflon tape on that joint (flare fitting to restrictor) and the flare was usually a 90*.

| Not Ranked : 0 score FWIW, ATP seems to think that if you are using the stock oil feed, then a banjo bolt setup will not cause any problems. So, I'll end up with is this: -Stock oil feed line coming from block with a -4 male welded to it - -4 SS hose with -4 straight females on either end, 20" length - FP Inline Restrictor/Filter (not a must have...but I already ordered it) - ATP Low Profile -4 Banjo Not sure when I'll get all the stuff. In the mean time, I'm leaking/burning oil. 320 miles on the new motor/turbo. Running strong. Ready to crank it up.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I installed the FP inline restrictor/filter as well as a new -4 line and low profile -4 banjo bolt. Seems to be working great. Current hitting about 20 PSI on the tune. Trying to get everything dialed in nice before turning it up.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Be careful with that filter. If it does it's job, it may seriously restrict oil flow to the turbo. Make sure to check it often.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Yeah. I'll check it pretty often for awhile and then, after awhile, I'll just check it when I do oil changes. If it appears that it doesn't seem to catch much anyway then I'll full the filter out and just use it as a restrictor.

| Not Ranked : 0 score i went 20k on my ATP GT3076 with stock banjo and no restrictor and never had a problem. i have he same setup on mt GTX35R now too. im personally not a fan of inline filters for the reasons drew stated. its much easier to ruin a CHRA from oil starvation then from some dirty oil running through it............ whats why the car has an oil filter
