Default cp-e BlockD EGR Delete Kit - NEW

We're proud to introduce the new cp-e BlockD EGR Delete Kit! The first 30 kits are available exclusively through us! We've done an install guide that we'll also put in the main forum section but have included here as well.

The cp-e BlockD kit is simple, effective, and well designed.

cp-e BlockD EGR Delete Kit
$99.99

Features:

- CNC'd Billet Aluminum
- Anodized in Black
- Lightweight, Compact, Strong
- CNC'd Aluminum Intake Manifold Plug
- All Necessary Hardware Included

Why would you want to remove your EGR?

Removing your EGR does not make a huge difference in immediate performance, it doesn't change the way the car feels, but it does have a large effect on the experience any person modifying their car will have for 2 reasons.

1. Convenience. Anyone that has ever installed an inlet pipe or worked on a turbo before knows that the EGR system is a large piece of detrimental metal just sitting in the way of your hands as you work in the engine bay. Get it out of there and enjoy the experience of working on your car a little more.

2. Functionality. The factory EGR system is there for a reason but the reason is not in anybody's best interest on this forum. An acronym for exhaust gas recirculation, the EGR system basically pollutes the intake system of your car with exhaust gases for various reasons. At the end of the day, that exhaust gas ends up taking up room where air can be, instead of exhaust gases, which can result in a loss of power and/or efficiency. It ends up coating your intake manifold with buildup that restricts flow and passes onto the back of your valves and into the motor. From one day to the next, you won't notice a difference. But over time, this can be harmful to anyone trying to make power efficiently, which is what we are all after.

Make sure you take care of your car as you modify it and don't neglect the important things that can have a counterproductive effect as you spend time and money increasing the performance of your car.

Below are the installation instructions for this simple, bolt-on part. Please email, PM, or call us if you have any questions.

Thank you!

CP-E BlockD EGR Delete Kit

Tools Needed
  • Socket Wrench
  • 8mm Socket
  • 10mm Socket
  • 12mm Socket
  • 26mm Socket (Possible to use a crescent wrench, instead)
  • Socket Extension
  • Pliers
  • Flat Head Screwdriver
  • Crescent Wrench
  • Rags and/or Shop Towels
  • Thread Sealant

Step 1 - Removing the Battery and Battery Tray
  • Remove the top battery box cover by unclipping the plastic clips securing the battery box cover. (No tools)

  • Remove the battery terminal wires currently clamped on to the battery terminals by loosening the clamps and pulling them off the top. (10mm socket)

  • Remove the battery tie down bracket securing the battery inside of the battery box. (10mm socket or wrench)
  • Take battery out.

  • Unclip the white ECU harness clips securing the ECU harness to the ECU. This is not hard, but they will not move until you push the fastened clip in enough. Don’t pull it up too hard if it won’t unclip. Make sure the clip is not still securing the harness down, then pull up on the white part which will loosen the harness and allow you to pull it off the ECU. There are 2 different sections to remove from the ECU.

  • Remove the 10mm bolts (3) fastening the battery box to the car in the bottom of the battery box. (10mm socket, extension)

Step 2 – Remove the Intake and Inlet Pipe
  • If you have a stock airbox, remove the stock airbox which is fastened down on the top cover by 2 clips and the bottom of the airbox which you can pull up out of the car without loosening any fasteners, clamps, screws, etc. It pulls right up.

  • Disconnect the MAF sensor. You do not need to take the MAF sensor out of the intake system, only remove the part of the harness fastened to the actual sensor.

  • Disconnect the valve cover breather hose if it is still connected to the intake system.

  • If you have an aftermarket filter, you can most likely remove the entire intake system, depending on how it is mounted, in order to get to the inlet pipe. If you have the factory intake system, now you can remove the coupler that connects the inlet pipe to the intake box by loosening the clamps. (Flat head screwdriver)

  • If you have the factory or an aftermarket bypass valve connected to the inlet pipe, remove the clamp to the bypass valve right now.

  • Remove any fasteners that are attaching the inlet pipe to the upper mounting bracket, if any.
  • Remove the vacuum line attached to the electronic boost controller going into the inlet pipe.
  • Loosen the clamp attaching the inlet pipe to the turbocharger.
  • Carefully remove the inlet pipe which should still have the bypass valve hose attached to it.

Step 3 – Remove the EGR Valve
  • Unplug the harness from the EGR Valve.

  • At this point, get a rag or shop towel and a set of hose clamp pliers. Using the pliers, pinch off the end of the coolant line coming from the EGR Valve with enough room left on the end of the hose to still reinstall the hose on a new fitting. Using the rag around the end of coolant line to absorb any spillage, remove the line from the EFR Valve.

  • Remove 10mm bolts (2) fastening the EGR Valve to the water housing. (10mm Socket)

  • Remove EGR Valve.

Step 4 – Install Primary EGR Delete Blockoff Plate
  • Using thread sealant, coat threads or wrap sealant around threads of the new coolant fitting. Fasten the fitting into the outer side of the delete plate. Tighten down this fitting down now or after you install the plate for better leverage. (11mm wrench)

  • Reusing the factory gasket, place them onto the back of the CP-E EGR plate and insert the cap screws into the plate and through the gasket. Make sure the gasket is oriented correctly on the plate.

  • Install the plate onto the car in the location the EGR used to be. Fasten the cap screws on tightly and snug. Do NOT over-tighten.

Step 5 – Install Secondary EGR Delete Blockoff Plate
  • Remove the 3 nuts fastening the intercooler down. (12mm socket)

  • Loosen the clamps on the both the pre-intercooler and post-intercooler hoses, on the intercooler side only. Remove the couplers from the intercooler. (Flat head screwdriver)

  • Pull the intercooler off of the top of the engine.

  • Remove the coupler from the throttle body. (Flat head screw driver or an 8mm socket)

  • Remove the throttle body plug.

  • Remove the bolts (4) attaching the throttle body to the intake manifold. (8mm socket)

  • Remove the nut attaching the metal EGR tube to the intake manifold. (Crescent wrench)

  • Remove the nuts (2) fastening the upper part of the tube to the water housing. (8mm socket)

  • Remove the EGR recirculation tube.
  • Fasten the new, smaller plate to the water housing where the pipe was removed from, reusing the factory bolts. (8mm socket)

  • Using thread sealant, seal the threads on the supplied plug and fasten it to the intake manifold. Do NOT over-tighten. Just snug it down tightly securely so that it does not leak. (26mm socket or crescent wrench)

Step 6 – Reinstallation
  • Working your way backwards through the instructions, reinstall all components that have been removed. Make sure all clamps are tightened down, all fasteners are tightened, and lines are reinstalled.

It looks like a pretty intricate piece of metal to function as a block-off, but since the Kozmic EGR delete kit does the Primary EGR block-off for $31.99, and JBR has a secondary egr block-off for $20.00, I can't see how CP-E is going to get $100.00 per unit...

Yeah...lol until it breaks and it's your fault for running it with a cp-e downpipe, too much exhaust gasses burned it up, no warranty for you.
