Default Engine Build Thread

Hey guys its becoming more and more common for people to build their motors with the age and wear starting to creep up on us. Im going to list a few basic quotes of what it takes to build your motor and so you can get an idea if you are on the fence of taking the plunge!

Now we all build at different points so replacing certain parts due to wear or peace of mind such as oil pumps and if you wanted to do vvt while you were in there also we have pricing for those we can get those ordered for you as well. Anyways if you have any questions or want to add anything let me know Also when you are building a motor and need to replace the head gasket we need to know what year and model the motor came from. (this is very important to help maintain oil functions in the motor)

I would suggest throwing up the price for some arp lube crap up there, and some assy lube. this thread will be stupid useful as i have given this list to like 5 people now. haha

Might want to price in timing tool purchase/rental, new timing chain & tensioner, serpentine belt & tensioner and as mtnrunner said, assembly and ARP lube.

Edit: I also suggest including the other piston and connecting rod options available to the market.

We're going to add some parts on here and update it with other ancillary parts but so far this is the bare minimum you need to replace when ripping the motor apart.

The head studs and main studs come with the little .5oz deal but I like to be super generous with the lube and run out of that quicly. the 1.69 oz would probably be enough for the average person. Since its only like 10-20 bucks i bought the 10oz container and had enough for a good time after.

any wrist pin thats 22.5 will fit a genpu piston.

Yes kinda...

I was also referring to something Alan is assigned to in getting pricing and parts list together for us directly to offer built motors built here locally and I will keep you posted with those prices when I find them out
