I ordered it Tuesday afternoon and actually emailed on Thursday *and Friday and was super cool about everything..... and called again this morning which is when I was informed the part was back-ordered. A simple " i'm sorry this happened we kind kind of dropped the ball" response would of been great but don't act like its my problem that I was never informed about this not being in stock.

My engine was a total loss as was my intercooler so I need this to get my car running. Unfortunately my work week starts Thursday so no car for yet another week.

1) he didn't really bash edge. he simply stated he is unhappy about a lack of communication.
2) what's "SUPPOSED" to separate MSF from other forums? the fact the vendors aren't protected by the forum owner. but, if the vendors are instead simply protected by the members, then it what's the real difference? fuck all that.


post up when there's a perceived problem. then the vendor can come address it. the vendors have a forum presence so they can interact with the customers via the forum.

I think I have a valid gripe but if you don't agree that's cool man we can agree to disagree. I've had good experiences in the past with Edge but this is just piss poor and keeps me out of a car for even longer than I'd like. I could of bought from somewhere else or paid more money for shipping if this was going to be an issue.

They were busy as hell with 10 billion people trying to find out about the newsletter and I heard they had phones down and other issues. EdgeAuto is awesome and they're even getting a sticker spot on my car and I hate stickers, never put one on a car before.
Good customer service is hard to come by but these guys surpass all by far.

I appreciate the kind words (honestly) but I never had anyone else install an intake on my car. I dont get where this confusion is coming from. I had an AEM CAI on my car with a Cobb TIP but the set up was damaged in a crash so I ordered a Corksport Stage II and installed it at a body shop while they were waiting on more parts for my car....

What we're saying is, you blamed Corksport for (seemingly) no reason when your turbo "ate a screw". And now since you didn't recieve your part from Edge on time, (mind you they drop ship these things and most of the time it depends on the manufacturer), you're blaming Edge and calling them out. When all of us know that Edge has been one of the BEST suppliers for our platform. They'll help out in any way possible. Can you see why we're skeptical now?

I think thats why its a let down that I got no response and not even a lick or remorse when my shipment was delayed. Like I said a simple "our bad" goes a long way but that never transpired. I ordered from edge over places with slightly cheaper prices because of their good track record, purported fast shipping, and to support what I believe is a good vendor. Its not like i went off on a tangent or something.

I take issue with the constant flow of people bashing our vendors...we are lucky that they support as small of a group as we are (comparatively).

Also, user shows active since 2010. He can't play the new guy card anymore.

I agree with you but lol I made my account a long time ago per another user and never really used it up until recently. It is what it is though, no point in trying to make my point I'll just have to deal with no car for another week and hopefully mazda can get it back to me next week. Apologies are easy to come by but I guess I'm way more willing to apologize for a mistake / error than others.

If i didnt NEED this part it wouldnt even be an issue. I just need my damn car, not having it since Dec-23rd is getting tiring, insurance refuses to let me re use my stock unit or any other unit that isnt NEW. They said my old Streetunit was no good because it may have debris inside it.

No offense OP, But some people here have been down a car a lot longer than a month. Take me for example; This month makes 2 years i've been w/o my car due to an engine failure and shitty dealer.

You should have called EdgeAutosport before making a thread. Waiting a week for a part to be shipped is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. MSF does not have pitty parties.

I'd advise you to cool it down. you say "pretty poor customer service" well, last week when I ran into a problem(car towed home from faulty product failing) JP personally took care of everything and got everything sorted out.

I've also learned to do this before ordering anything, call the company and verify the product is in stock, and if not ask how long it will be out of stock then make a determination.

The way I see it, they're a big company with a lot of customers. Occasionally something slips through the cracks. I made a pretty big order on black friday and one item was backordered ended up eventually getting forgotten. I had to remind them (almost 2 months later), but they immediately fixed it. They even accomodated my specific shipping requirements. Edge rocks in my book. Even though they also forgot the t-shirt they said they'd give me with my BT order

Most websites, when you order from there, tell you before you can even order it that they are out of stock on the product. I agree with OP. It can be annoying to make a purchase on something, wait about 2-3 days and then receive a call or an email saying it's on backorder and that it will come directly from the manufacturer in about 3-5 days.

I do not think the OP is out of line at all. Software should be in place where they catalog their inventory and upload that data to a source for their website to pull from. Most websites do it. I've even ordered stuff from websites that say 7 in stock, place my order, refreshed the page, and it says 6 in stock.

Obviously i'm not dieing about the fact that if i order something it might not be at my doorstep in 3 days. But if multiple vendors carry these parts, one has them in stock and one doesn't, i'm going to order from the vendor that has it in stock.

NOTE: This post is not downing on Edgeauto. They have fantastic service and their presence on this board and through PMs is awesome. Simply pointing out a flaw in their website that can cause some distress.

What this guy said. I have my stock IC sitting up in the attic and if one of my fellow nators needed it they could use it. Based off reading this entire thread it seems to me you are not part of any local NATOR, otherwise you would have not started a thread like this.
