Default Precision Turbo Kits at EdgeAutosport



I teased this a while ago in the thread that we released the Kozmic Precision Downpipe in but we now officially have a "kit" that is ready for you to order and bolt on to your car.

For ever since I can remember, ATP (Garrett) bolt on turbos were pretty much the only option for adding on big power with relative ease. You pretty much had no choice if you wanted to avoid the time consuming and high cost of going custom. We were limited because hardly anyone made a manifold for us and the only ones that were available were flanged for stock turbo anyways so the choice was clear. ATP Bolt on was the only reasonable way to go.

But now we finally have the option to make running a precision turbo much easier. Precision Turbo was founded in 1987 and is one of the worlds foremost manufacturers of high performance turbochargers. Uncompromised quality and unsurpassed performance is their moto and they produce some of the highest flowing aftermarket turbos at a bargain of a price.

So our thanks goes out to cp-e and Kozmic Motorsports for making this kit possible. cp-e created the precision flanged option for their LRT Manifold and Kozmic has created a downpipe, a dump tube, and an oil return/feed line designed specifically for a precision turbo and the cp-e manifold. We are very excited about these kits as we believe this is the future for big power on the Mazdaspeed platform. So without further adieu, I present to you the Precision Bolt-on Turbo Kit for the Mazdaspeed 3



The kit includes the following.

Precision Turbo of your choice
cp-e LRT Manifold w/ Precision flange
Tial 44mm MVR Wastegate
Kozmic Precision Downpipe
Kozmic Precision Oil Feed Line
Kozmic Precision Oil Return Line
Kozmic non Water Cooled EGR Block off
V-Band Clamps for Precision Turbine inlet/outlet
Bolt to replace one of the manifold studs

Precision Ball-Bearing Turbo Kit - $3854.22
Precision Jounal Bearing Turbo Kit - $3254.22

Precision Turbo Kit V-Band Journal Bearing Turbo Mazdaspeed 6 2006-2007 - $3149.73
Precision Turbo Kit V-Band Ball Bearing Turbo Mazdaspeed 6 2006-2007 - $3749.73

Things to Note:

You have to do the Primary EGR Delete for this kit because the Precision Ported S Cover will interfere with the EGR valve as well as the lower driver side stud for the exhaust manifold. That is why we will be including a bolt, flat washer, and lock washer with the kit so you can replace the stud and not have any issues.

Special thanks goes out to @Hanzodurrr; as he was the first person to purchase this "kit" and was kind enough to let us use it for the pictures that we are now able to show you guys with.

Why are the turbo options so limited I would be more interested in a 5128 or 5130 cea

Not everyone with a 3 or 6 is looking for big power. those two turbos would be great track or ax turbos. quick spool and good top end

Is the manifold flange for the TiAL hotside and precision hotside the same and just the dp flange differs? Or are there three different cpe mani's?

cp-e mani has 4 options :no flange, k04, tial, or precision

Those turbos don't have an option for the Vband turbine inlet and outlet and therefore won't work with the manifold or downpipe. The ones we have as options are the only ones that do have the vband turbine inlet/outlet.

It is different. The size is pretty similar but you can't fit one to the other. Also, placement for the downpipe will be slightly different due to the geometry of the different turbos.

This is excellent to see made available!

I have a hard time finding a database of compressor or turbine maps for the Precision turbos. Are they available somewhere? This will really help in turbo selection.

EDIT: Looks like they don't release compressor maps which is a shame. We just have to go by "hp level"

Nope.

No compressor maps for Precision turbos.

I've been using and working with Precision turbos for quite some time now on other platforms besides the Mazdaspeed and they are great turbos especially for the price.

If I were to do a Precision build on my MS3, my choice of parts would be no different.

We are very excited about this kit! It just makes taking it to the next level so much easier. No more crazy custom stuff has to be done to run big power setups. Don't get me wrong, it isn't all rainbows and butterflies but it certainly takes a lot of the difficult work out. Plus, your engine will thank you for running such an efficient setup!

And @swsmailman;, you have the intake so you are all ready to go for a precision kit right?

Found this and I checked a few HP ratings for these turbos that seem to correlate more or less with this chart

4447= 37 lbs/min
4747= 43 lbs/min
4947= 47 lbs/min
5147= 53 lbs/min
5152= ?? lbs/min
5347= 54 lbs/min
5356= 50 lbs/min
5362= 52 lbs/min
5558= 54 lbs/min
5562= 57 lbs/min
5565= 59 lbs/min
5857= 58 lbs/min
6062= 65 lbs/min
6065= 66 lbs/min

Somewhere around 43-45 lbs/min turbo is what you need for 400whp on high octane/E85 mix/meth.

This is a great deal for a turbo kit. The Vband mani and precision turbo combination has been the most proven combo on this platform and I would (and have been for years) push anyone thinkin about goin BT, to go with Precision, ESPECIALLY since this kit just made it 10x easier to do so.

Those are entry level PTE's which I wouldn't think anyone would use for these builds. They come standard with E-covers and no vband in/out option for turbine housing iirc.

5858 = HTA3076 with slightly better spool and as much if not more top end
6262 = HTA3582
6266 = HTA 3586
6466 = league of its own (HTA3794 with much quicker spool and slightly less top end)
6766 = Super 94 HTA
6870 = Super 99 HTZ

I ended up going with the 5858 ball bearing so I have room to grow once I do a motor build. It seemed to be what I was looking for and it's as easy as a quick turbo swap if I want to go larger in the future. Can't wait until everything shows up. Pieces have slowly been trickling in.

whoever buys this and doesnt get a 6466 is wack! haha jk

This is honestly probably one of the best "kits" for the platform right now, along with being one of the cheapest options.

My new set up is basically this kit, subtracting a few items that I already had on the car that were made custom before it was an option to buy. Ill probably have to eventually buy the Kozmic downpipe, just want to make 100% sur emy current downpipe wont work.

Is this turbo set-up rotated so just about any FMIC set-up can be run? or does it require some type of custom solution?

I can't speak for this kit on a whole but I ordered some couplers to make it meet up with the cp-e hot side pipe for my FMIC. It's going to be some trial and error since its new to the market.

Its not rotated but due to the geometry of the precision turbo being different than the garrett based ATP turbos, there will probably need to be some different coupler combos to get it to fit with some intercooler setups.
