| Not Ranked : 0 score Anyone notice less NVH switching to E85? At about 10 miles into my first tank I noticed a significant drop in the vibes. My rearview mirror is no longer useless @ speed, and I can start in 2nd gear without the engine bogging. Is that just a side effect of the engine not having to work as hard? Made me crawl underneath to make sure I didnt snap my JBR wishbone. Thoughts? I'm running a 5gal mix of summer blend (E37). |

| Not Ranked : 0 score It does run smoother, yes. Also, you can shift at about 2500 and it will pull normally. That is what you should do to get better mileage (6th gear @ 45 mph FTW).

| Not Ranked : 0 score Dead serious. You can't go as low with only 50/50 mix, but these engines on corn love to cruise at 2k rpm. @phate; @silvapain; Back me up gents.

| Not Ranked : 0 score He's not saying to floor it at 45 MPH in 6th gear, but the engine has no problem cruising at that low an RPM with E85. I typically try to keep it in the 2K RPM range when cruising at a steady speed, even when on pump gas.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Just "tested" this 6th gear thing and I realized I do it all the time without noticing (I try to hypermile since on E as much as I can).. 6th gear at 1.8K-2.2K can get you 35+ mpg easily if you control the throttle correctly.

| Not Ranked : 0 score My elevation swing just going to and from work is over 300ft though there are still plenty of places where I can cruise at a low RPM in 6th. Typically, most of my drive is done in 6th with not much time spent in 5th and just one hill in 4th. My speed is usually right around 55-65mph.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I have a local E85 pump. A few of them. Based on this. And that my friend runs E85 through his evo and loves it. I would love to get in on it. MAX 50/50 though after reading this. Which tuner would you recommend for 50/50 Ethanol. i need a full tune done anyway and since E85 is so available it would seem right. E50* and 93.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Finishing up my e25 mix base map. I used the mix sheets to get my fsg and scalar numbers. The class 2 and 3 blend numbers are close the scalar is the same and ATR rounds the FSG to the same so I should be fine using both blends? Also lowered boost (17.5) and timing a lot because I am gonna take it little slow. AFR is 11.4 to keep it safe. Anything look wrong with this timing besides being low numbers to start with? Another question is I am in college so I don't drive that often and my car sits a decent amount. I was planning on do a small fillup 1gallon e85 1 gallon 93 if being on the empty light means 2 gallon left. I did pickup the marine stabilizer though. So has anyone used the sta-bil marine stuff and had sucess or what should I do?

| Not Ranked : 0 score That mid range timing isn't really in line with the top end timing. It's WAY aggressive compared to the top end. Quite a bit for a base map.

| Not Ranked : 0 score If the table I posted doesn't look good im just use a ots timing to start with not an expert at atr yet but I think I know enough to try out e85. I haven't had to much experience with changing timing so I will just use that table and do the small increases instead of trying to make my own base.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Closest station for me is about 40 minutes away. So what I do is whenever possible head there on a weekend when I'm able and bring 3 5 gallon containers with me. I put in an ounce or so of the stabil ethanol treatment in each container and fill each one with 4 gallons. Stuff works great, I've had them sit for as long as 2 months and never had any problems.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Exactly right, put in the largest mixture that you think will fit. I do 4 gal of e and 8 of pump when I get just under a quarter tank and that's completely full |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I take mine down until the gauge reads empty and I can usually fit right at 14 gallons which for me means a 5/9 mix. Your car may be different so keep a spare can of 93 in the trunk until you figure it out.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I will probably fill up with a decent amount less than what would be a full tank then when I figure out what my empty light reads add more. But I still need to decide if I am going to try and tune this or get an e tune. I have been learning a lot last couple months but e85 seems little tougher for me.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Best way is to take it all the way down to empty. Fill it to the top with 93 and see what it takes.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Take it down to a quarter tank, refill like normal then use that number for your overall fill rate; leave any additional remainder off just to be safe though.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Might be different for others, but when my light comes on I put about another 10-15 miles on the car and then head to the gas station. 8 gallons of 93 and I top it off with the 4 gallons of E85, has never been a problem.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I though you put the e85 first but if you know your own tank I guess it doesn't matter.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Remember that the Pu has a 16 gallon tank and the Juan is only 14.5 gallons, so how much you add at what gauge level depends on your MY.
