(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score so that's enough about me let me tell you my story so I bought a blown motor hoping there wasn't any holes. none on the outside but I pull the head and found a small hold though the sleeve and water jacket. I was thinuking about m.i.d sleeves from darton anyone ever use these, I don't see any other option to save the block |

yup been running that for 3 years no knock no pressure dips Yada Yada, I know i know it's the first thing I should have done, but a good tune goes a long way our master tech at my shop said the same thing but I don't trust not having that jacket behind it, so I was thinking darton mid sleeves should cut that whole jacket out, I've just never seen it on our platform Last edited by danj76515; 07-06-2016 at 05:09 PM. | Not Ranked : 0 score Might be cheaper to get a different block instead of sleeving.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Buy a new block or find another core. You don't need sleeves for 650whp.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score thanks for all you input guys. I know a new block is easier and will probably cost the same or less than m.i.do sleeves but I'm wondering how much less if it's a matter of 300 dollars why not sleeve it, I was wondering if anyone has or knows of someone who has used these sleeves, maybe a call to darton is in order? |

| Neutral : +1 score People have sleeved this block before. Darton sleeves have also been used. Search build threads to find who and information. You'll want to find a more than competent machine shop and get a quote for sleeveing from them. Not all shops are capable. I remember seeing pics of a shattered block from improper pressing of sleeves.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Sleeved blocks rarely went well. Guy a good used short block and convert this one onto a livingroom table with a nice piece of glass above it or make it a flower vase.
